When citizens of our county proposed a ban on fracking and other high-risk oil drilling methods, many said that if we did so, the oil industry would sue and bankrupt this county.
Well, the people did pass it and we did not go bankrupt.
San Benito Rising presents the Board of Supervisors with a check in the amount of $684. to cover the entire legal expenses the county incurred to defend Measure J.
The public is invited to attend the board meeting on Tuesday, Feb, 23, when the check will be presented.
