Sacred Heart Parish School students grades took on an art project in downtown Hollister this week. The first- through eighth-graders painted storefront windows along San Benito Street in preparation for the San Benito County Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo.
This year, the county celebrates the 82nd year of this historic event held at Bolado Park. Paint for the young artists was donated by the Community Foundation for San Benito County. Among the merchants welcoming the artwork were: DeLux Hair Salon, San Benito Bene, Fireplace Depot, Hope Services, Mars Hill Coffee, She’s and Edward Jones.
This event would not have come about without the tireless dedication of Gillian Enz and Rebecca Wolf, the heart and soul behind one of the few authentic old-time horse shows left in California.
