On Friday, Aug. 12, baristas from surrounding areas will descend upon sleepy San Juan Bautista and there is no telling what will happen next.
Each barista will face off in a head-to-head competition against one another, pouring latte art that will be judged on creativity, clarity, and contrast. A panel of coffee professionals will decide who wins and moves on to the next round. Baristas will have a chance to win money, as there is a $10 buy-in to compete, as well as prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. Sign-ups are at 6 p.m. The throwdown starts at 7 p.m.
Not pouring or competing? No problem; the public is welcome to take in the action and grab some coffee, local craft beer, wood fired pizza, or sangria from our special sangria bar that night.
