This week BenitoLink begins its second annual "Pledge of Champions" fund drive and we already have good news to share.
The nonprofit community news site has received a $15,000 donation from the Randy and Rebecca Wolf Family Fund. We are combining it with our recently-approved Community Foundation for San Benito County grant of $15,000 for a total challenge match of $30,000.
Your donations, over the next several weeks, will be DOUBLED up to that $30,000 threshold, thanks to this huge match. With this fantastic start, we will bring in a total of $60,000 or more for 2017.
These funds will allow BenitoLink to attain its goals of more in-depth reporting and reaching the under-reported communities of San Benito County.
Show your support for local, community-based journalism by donating to BenitoLink.
BenitoLink is fortunate to have Adam Breen, John Chadwell, Laura Romero, Frank Perez, Laureen Diephof, Dillon Rawlings, Lisa Robinson, Joshua Miller, Lisa Robinson-Ward, Raul Ceja and Sean Roney, among others, on our story production team, but the truth is, we need more reporters and photographers to cover all that is happening in our growing county.
Your support means a diverse team of professional reporters on assignment covering important topics such as education, roads and streets, the economy, transportation, healthcare, housing, agriculture, leadership, the environment and more.
BenitoLink also welcomes grassroots-type articles and community conversations in our popular “Commentaries” section. We are excited about continuing to work with young (and older) writers, helping them build a strong portfolio of their own.
Whether you give a personal donation or become a business sponsor, the message you send is that you like what we are doing and you want to see BenitoLink prosper.
To give a donation online, press the DONATE button in the upper right hand corner on the homepage. Checks can be sent directly to the BenitoLink office at 829 San Benito St. Suite 200, in Hollister, 95023.
