Oct. 30, was the soft opening date for Hollister’s northern-most McDonald’s, located at on San Felipe Road near Highway 25.
The restaurant opened originally in 1980. BenitoLink stopped by just to take a look at the busy lunch crowd and happened to bump into owners, Terry and Gary Carlisle. They were visiting with employees and wandering around greeting their customers. The restaurant was packed and the drive thru was full with double lanes.
The Carlisles, who live locally, bought the McDonald’s in November of 1980. They also own the other one on the other side of town, which they bought in 1995.
The Carlisles have several long-time employees and own two other McDonald’s restaurants, one in Prunedale and the other in Gilroy near Walmart.
