Gas Station Mural 11.jpg

Phillip Ray Orabuena and Adam Valentino were out making art in-an-instant on Saturday, Feb. 20. The two artists are doing a Park Hill-themed mural near the Hometown Gas station at Third and San Benito streets. The building on which the mural is painted is on San Benito Street near Park Hill at the road — Hill Street — leading up to the public park.

Valentino, the lead artist on this project, specializes in spray painting as an art method. Valentino’s profile is given in the recent BenitoLink article, “Creators of San Benito Street Mural Advocate for More Public Art”.

Orabuena was the lead artist on the mural recently completed mural at the old used car lot on San Benito Street.  You can also learn about Orabuena in the BenitoLink story written about that project.

Valentino did the outline for the mural Saturday and Orabuena joined him after work to start filling in the color of the mural. The artists hoped to complete the project Sunday.
