Pledge Final Graphics 26000sm.png

The Pledge of Champs heads in to the final month with $13,085 donated by community members from all economic levels, political perspectives and personal passions. Our readers appreciate the fact that we represent integrity, quality and relentless reporting.

We appreciate your positive comments like this one from local resident Anita Cullinan, “Thank you for doing such a wonderful job reporting on what is important in our community.”

Or a few encouraging words can mean a lot. Like this one from Hollister City Council member Karson Klauer, “I appreciate the work that the organization does.”

Just looking at another well-known example of a nonprofit news source, PBS, we know that a simple $10 donation or monthly contribution from a sustaining member can make a huge impact. Thank you to Anita, Karson and all our November BenitoLink donors. Your support takes us that much closer to our year-end goal of $38,000.

Without the support of INN‘s NewsMatch and the Community Foundation for San Benito County, BenitoLink would not have the opportunity to double our donation numbers. INN, or Institute for Nonprofit News is dedicated to supporting investigative reporting and has 100 members. As an INN member, BenitoLink is fortunate to have the tremendous professional and financial support INN provides. INN states on its website,”Our community shares best practices, collaborates on stories, pools resources and receives cutting-edge training in professional, organizational and business development.”

Both NewsMatch and the Community Foundation are dedicated to an informed and engaged community. The initial News Match Fund was established with $1 million each from Democracy Fund, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The Miami Foundation is the fiscal sponsor.
