Local artist, Phillip Ray Orabuena will be outdoors or "Plein Air" as they say in the art world, creating public art in Hollister on Sunday, Feb. 7. He welcomes art lovers to join in. Orabuena is the lead artist on the western-themed mural on San Benito Street at the base of Park Hill.
Orabuena will be hosting the public art event on Super Bowl Sunday at the 400 Block of San Benito Street in Hollister. He is asking people to grab some supplies and head over to the 400 block to have what he's calling a "paint in the park day."
It is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The public is invited to grab a canvas, some paper, paint brushes, paint, easel, have a picnic, or just watch. The event will be on the grassy area, also known as the 400 Block, next to the Vault and adjacent to the Briggs parking garage near the intersection of Fourth and San Benito streets.
