Bob Reid hit the road and visited several rural schools to introduce them to a very old-time way of singing, known as singing in rounds. Students from Tres Pinos, Cienega, Jefferson and Bitterwater-Tully came together and performed as a group for the first time. About 250 people showed up for the evening, bringing the rural community together. Students had never practiced together, but in no time they were belting out a few classic rounds.
The program was funded by E Cubed Foundation with the help of the Woolpert Family Foundation and San Benito County Arts Council. Most rural schools no longer can afford consistent music instruction and have to get support from non-profits like E Cubed Foundation.
