The City of San Juan Bautista would like to inform residents, businesses, and visitors of temporary traffic impacts associated with San Juan Day 2026, taking place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in Historic Downtown San Juan Bautista.

San Juan Day will feature a variety of community activities, including a street festival, California State Historic Park Early Days activities, community yard sales, antique and handcrafted vendors, food vendors and trucks, a farmers’ market, custom car display, Kids’ Zone, live entertainment, and more.

Temporary road closures will be in effect on the following streets:

  • Third Street between Franklin Street and Muckelemi Street
  • Polk Street between Second Street and Fourth Street
  • Mariposa Street between Second Street and Fourth Street
  • Washington Street between Second Street and Fourth Street

Road closures and traffic control measures will be in place from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Public event activities will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect traffic delays and limited parking in the downtown area throughout the day. Please allow extra travel time, follow posted signs and directions from traffic control personnel, and use alternate routes or parking areas when possible. Access to properties within the event area may be temporarily limited during event setup and breakdown as vendors and equipment are moved into and out of the site. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times throughout the event.
