Share Your Holiday, the annual one-day KSBW broadcast and online fundraiser, totaled $177,457 in cash donations to help Central Coast residents in need. Gathered from five locations, 15,924 pounds of food was collected and 6,381Â new toys were donated for less fortunate children.
In San Benito County, Heritage Bank of Commerce joined KSBW, providing the location for the annual live fundraising even on Friday, Dec. 9.
According to Heritage Bank spokeswoman Diana Olveira, “The fundraiser helps local families have a happier holiday with donations of new and unwrapped toys, clothing, blankets, food, bottled water, and monetary contributions.”
KSBW 8 and Central Coast ABC broadcast their Share Your Holiday event from five Central Coast locations. People made donations and met KSBW Action News 8 anchors and reporters, including Felix Cortez, who was stationed in Hollister. Many local clubs and youth groups provided seasonal entertainment during the eight-hour event.
The Salvation Army administers all donations from the 30th annual event across the Central Coast.Â
