Tuesday, May 3, is the focal point and final day of Silicon Valley Gives, a fundraising event that covers the entire Bay Area. The Silicon Valley Community Foundation hosts the event and has generously included San Benito County over the last several years. They recognize that San Benito County is home to many Silicon Valley and San Francisco workers who commute miles every day.

The intent of this annual campaign is to strengthen the common good on a local level. It’s your chance make a real difference, right here in San Benito County. You can help your county by learning about and donating to any of the many nonprofits that work hard to make it a better place to live.

BenitoLink will be one of those nonprofits asking for your support. Even if you can only donate for a moderate amount, join in! The more individuals who donate to the BenitoLink page on SVGives, the better. In fact, there are special funding opportunities to the nonprofits with the most donors, regardless of the amount.

Silicon Valley Gives will raise money for local nonprofits through its single online donation platform, SVGives (hosted on Razoo), providing a simple way to connect donors to nonprofits. Go to the website and press “donate” to view a list of all the participating nonprofits, then type in “San Benito County” to see all the options or BenitoLink into the search box.

SV Gives benefits organizations in Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Benito counties. Silicon Valley Gives raises money for local nonprofits starting “officially” at midnight and continuing for a 24-hour period May 3 through its online platform, svgives.org which is hosted on the Razoo website. Donations can actually be accepted now, prior to May 3, but will end at midnight that night.

Taking advantage of SVGives provides a simple way to help donors find their causes and it encourages them to take action. There is a $10 minimum donation for any cause, which provides an opportunity for donors of all different capacities to be involved.

Take part supporting BenitoLink through the Silicon Valley Gives campaign.Â
