In response to a flood of complaints, the California State Water Resources Board has revised its original conservation proposals to reflect the effects of previous water use savings by district. The new proposals are scheduled to be voted on in May and are reflected on the map found here.

Some of the board’s proposals for local district mandatory reductions are as follows:

  • Hollister, 20 percent
  • Sunnyslope County Water District, 28 percent
  • Gilroy, 24 percent
  • Morgan Hill, 32 percent
  • Los Banos, 36 percent
  • Watsonville, 20 percent
  • Salinas 24 percent

The Hollister City Council is scheduled on Monday to consider emergency water-use regulations and the San Juan Bautista City Council will discuss water restrictions at its Tuesday meeting.
