Support local news through Pledge of Champions

Here it comes! BenitoLink's major annual fundraiser starts Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 31.

Nov. 1 kicks off the first week of BenitoLink’s annual Pledge of Champions fundraiser! Over the next several weeks, we will ask for the community to support San Benito County’s nonprofit news and information website.

BenitoLink reporters and staff are dedicated to providing informative and transparent reporting, and community support is an essential part of keeping powerful content in front of readers. That’s why we’re excited to share an opportunity to double donations this year up to $35,000!

For the fourth year in a row, BenitoLink has been selected to participate in NewsMatch, a national matching-gift campaign that benefits nonprofit newsrooms big and small from all over the United States. NewsMatch has promised a match up to $20,000 this year.

In addition to this great national support, we are also announcing a generous match from local donors Randy and Rebecca Wolf. Through their family fund, they have pledged to match up to $15,000 to encourage community members to take part in our important fundraiser.

From Nov. 1 until the end of the year, NewsMatch and the Randy and Rebecca Wolf Family Fund will double monthly donations for a full year, or double a one-time gift, all up to $1,000.

  • Monthly sustaining member payments help keep a steady cash flow, stabilizing our newsroom budget.
  • Annual individual donations can range from $25 to whatever suits your pocketbook.
  • A commitment to long-term donations through a family gifting program can ensure BenitoLink will continue to serve the community for years to come.

By taking part in our Pledge of Champions major fundraising campaign, you can help BenitoLink raise over $70,000 this fall to give our reporter team and staff more confidence and stability. This kind of support allows BenitoLink to continue providing nonprofit, nonpartisan reporting.

Let’s keep our news vibrant and inquisitive. Your support guarantees that residents will continue to have the information they need to be well informed and actively involved in the future of San Benito County.
