We appreciate the many interesting questions being submitted by the public to BenitoLink  for the “Use Your Voice” election forum on Thursday. The deadline for questions is Monday night, May 9.

So far, no women have sent in questions for the forum. BenitoLink’s mission is to be inclusive, and therefore, we welcome and encourage questions from our female readers. “Use Your Voice” and send in any questions you may have.

Questions should relate to appropriate topics for candidates and the Measure P spokesman. No one has filed to represent a No on Measure P position but questions will be presented to the Yes on P representative.

Here is a list of the people who will be at the forum, Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hollister City Council chambers, 375 Fifth St.

Congress (District 20)

  • Jack Digby
  • Barbara Honegger
  • Casey Lucius
  • Joe Williams
  • Jimmy Panetta (unable to attend)

Assembly (District 30)

  • Georgia Acosta
  • Anna Caballero
  • Karina Cervantez-Alejo
  • John Nevill

Supervisor (District 1)

  • Mark Medina
  • Mark Starritt

Yes on Measure P

  • Ignacio Velasquez

BenitoLink readers are invited to send in questions for any of the races (Board of Supervisors District 1, State Assembly, Congress) or for the Yes on Measure P presentation. Measure P is a 30-year, half-cent sales tax measure for road repairs and expansion of major corridors.

Send questions to Leslie David by email at [email protected]

The “Use Your Voice" forum, hosted by BenitoLink and the San Benito County Farm Bureau, will allow voters to take an active role in their county’s future and hear candidates' answers to important questions. Thanks to CMAP-TV, the forum will be recorded on video. BenitoLink will attempt (with a little help from our friends) to make the video available in English and with Spanish subtitles.
