BenitoLink moves in on $38,000 goal!

So far, the community has donated $37,500 to support BenitoLink's full match up to $38,000.

As Christmas comes to a close and we watch the final days of 2017 approach, BenitoLink reaches $37,500!

During this year’s fall Pledge of Champions, the community has already donated this amount to date and it is fully matched by NewsMatch and the Community Foundation for San Benito County. Our year-end goal is $38,000, which we hope to reach by our deadline, midnight, December 31. In our final stretch, we can only match donations of $1,000 or less.

BenitoLink has grown an incredible amount since it became a nonprofit two years ago. Today we reach an average 27,000 unique visitors a month and we have a growing pool of supporters who understand that BenitoLink is community-based news and needs local support to thrive.

Together we are expanding this website for the community's benefit. Everyone contributes in different ways; some write stories, others add events, comment on articles and share ideas through opinion pieces and commentaries. We are fortunate to have a growing number of citizens who donate modest amounts. All put together, it really adds up!  We are also blessed with other community members who are able to give major donations insuring that we can continue to enjoy high quality local news. Just as important are our business sponsors; who take part in BenitoLink by paying to have their logo displayed, which links readers to their websites.

Please consider joining in on the Pledge of Champions so we can reach some our shared goals:

  • A paid copy-editor to review all BenitoLink articles- $1,000 month
  • Regular training for our new and youth reporters- $200 month
  • Budget for graphic artist to help visualize concepts for readers- $300 month
  • Add more education, sports and district reporting $800 month

Thank you to all who have donated already. If you haven't donated but read BenitoLink, please consider taking part in the Pledge of Champions and helping us reach our full $38,000 match. Here are our 2017 Pledge of Champions donors so far:
