Parade fans lined San Benito Street on Thursday evening, June 23, to watch the annual San Benito County Saddle Horse Show Rodeo, one of the events that kicks off a series of weekend activities at Bolado Park.

Local businesses, youth organizations and nonprofits participated in the parade, which wound its way through downtown Hollister for more than an hour. 

BenitoLink photographer Joshua Miller captured scenes from the parade participants and excited onlookers. Chairs reserving prime parade watching locations were set out along the sidewalks of San Benito Street first thing in the morning on Thursday. 

The parade is followed by three days of rodeo events at Bolado Park. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the weekend:

 

SATURDAY

  • Show starts at 1:30 p.m.; $10 per adult, $5 per child
  • Family barbecue and auction after the show, 5-10 p.m.
  • Tasting at the vendor tent, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

 

SUNDAY       

  • Show starts at 1:30 p.m.; $10 per adult, $5 per child
